Every Jamis youth bike uses size-specific items like grips, saddles and cranks that enhance comfort and control by providing the best possible bike fit. We focus on designing frames with low stand-overs to take much of the awkwardness out of getting on board and dismounting after. We trim as much weight as we can with lightweight aluminum frames on many of the youth models and use aluminum parts where possible (the limiting factor here is working within a youth-bike-appropriate price point) to work towards that make-it-as-light-as-possible goal.

SIDEWALK ADVENTURER Everyone remembers their first bike; the combination of freedom and fun. That bike needs to be fun, comfortable and safe, which is why Laser 16 features a lightweight aluminum frame, removable training wheels, and BMX-style handlebars and saddle. LIGHTWEIGHT ALLOY FRAME Extra weight is the enemy of any bike. This is especially true for youth bikes, when the riders themselves are relatively light-weight. It’s tough to beat the cost-to-weight ratio of aluminum, which is why Laser 16 features a lightweight 6061 aluminum frame. This keeps the overall weight down, making the bike much more fun and easy to ride. TRAINING WHEELS INCLUDED When it comes to learning to ride a bike, building confidence is the name of the game. Laser 16 is equipped with training wheels, so young riders can build that confidence safely. - Lightweight 6061 aluminum MX-moto frame design - Tubular unicrown fork, MX Hi-Ten, straight blades - Electro-plated black steel rims, steel front and Hi-Stop coaster brake rear hubs - CST Dirt Knobbie tires - BMX high-impact resin pedals - Hi-Stop rear coaster brake - BMX style handlebar with a safety bell - Jamis BMX Jr. saddle

TOP FIVE THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW Our lightweight & durable aluminum Laser frame is easier to pedal than steel. The 20” Laser actually offers two types of brakes: a standard rear coaster brake, which most youngsters are familiar with, and a rear V-brake which many are not. Having the rear coaster brake as a back-up, allows youngsters to get used to hand-braking without going cold-turkey on the coaster brake they are comfortable with. Our alloy rims are anodized black to provide even greater corrosion and rust resistance than the alloy already possesses. Before wheels are laced and trued, the rim sidewalls are ground to provide a smooth braking surface for the rear V-brake. We build the Laser 2.0 wheels with 36 spokes in a 3-cross lacing pattern for a strong & durable wheel. Then mount knobby BMX tires that bite in the dirt, but also feature a rounded profile that rolls smoothly on neighborhood streets & driveways. Every Laser 2.0 offers a kickstand for parking that pride & joy up securely, and a safety bell to announce that the Laser has arrived.

TOP FIVE THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW - The full-length & full ring-wrap chainguard on Miss Daisy keep clothes & legs cleanly and safely out of the way of the chain. Those attractively painted fenders keep the rain & mud off the bike AND the rider and look cute to boot. - Our soft and comfortable foam grips feature a smooth vinyl cover that is embossed and stitched to match the saddle & decal theme. - Those wide Brooklyn Speedway tires offer a large contact patch for greater stability, with a smooth tread surface for easy rolling, and hold plenty of air volume for a more comfortable ride. - Our pedals offer a non-slip insert that keeps feet and shoes in full contact even when wet for safe & secure pedaling. - Every 16" Miss Daisy offers stabilizing training wheels that assist the young rider in learning how to pedal, steer and balance a bike for the first time. The training wheel support struts attach securely both to the rear hub axle and the frame itself so that the training wheels don't rotate out of a plane with the rear wheel, preventing tips or spills.

Freedom is the absence of fear. And riding fearlessly requires a bike that can handle your kid's imagination. It's why we designed Riprock to be a mountain bike inclusive of all the features needed for superior ripping, like modern geometry, Ground Control tires, hydraulic disc brakes, and internally routed cables. Finally, we threw in a wider-range drivetrain, making Riprock truly the perfect bike to inspire riders to climb higher and tackle the downhills freely. And more confidence always leads to more riding fearlessly. - A lightweight package, complete with an updated frame and wide-range drivetrain, creates the perfect bike to allow riders to easily tackle climbs. - Kids-specific updates and features create a ride that inspires confidence. A 130mm Bridge saddle, as well as a narrower Q factor and shorter cranks, offer improved alignment between the hip, knee, and ankle to decrease the risk of injury and increase pedal power. Narrow grips and updated frame geometry offer improved bike handling, inspiring riders to ride more. - Trail riding starts here.
